Join in a weekend of playful experimentation, as we together explore what extraordinary structures, stories and circus performance we can build, make and imagine with UK grown bamboo – widely held to be one of the most sustainable materials on the planet. Be part of an epic international adventure, bringing together artists, craftspeople, growers and communities from the UK, India, Ghana and Bali, alongside performers and engineers from Nofit State, the UK’s leading contemporary circus theatre company.  

A free outdoor festival in an award-winning, city centre, neighborhood park, presented by Imagineer Productions and artistic director Orit Azaz, in collaboration with Atelier One, BambooU, Rhizome Design, Ghana Bamboo Bikes and Nofit State.

Community Builders

Join Bamboo U (Bali) & engineers from Atelier One (UK) to make bamboo structures - micro, small and tall as a tree!

If you're handy around the house or garden, love fixing things or in a trade and want to learn new skills join the Community Builders alongside leading UK and international bamboo experts, designers, craftspeople and artists from Ghana, Malta, India & Australia. In addition local and UK groups experimented throughout the weekend to test the potential use for bamboo - and that's not without the creative testing from award winning No Fit State Circus.

Bamboo Story Stewards

Join the ‘Garden of Curiosities’ at Sunset Park, to help guide, engage and support the live bamboo outdoor experience.

If you’re concerned about climate change, looking at new ways to bring about climate justice, or seeking to share the potential for a new green revolution and promote the value of green space, then join our team delivering this international Imagine Bamboo Summit, set in the award winning Sunset Park (Alfred Way).
