Doorstep Arts Scratch Bursaries 2024
Doorstep Arts and Villages in Action are offering two bursary opportunities in 2024 to support the development of original theatre for young audiences in Devon. These targeted bursaries aim to deepen the quality of work that is available for families and young audiences in Devon, and to provide progression support to exciting artists regionally who are keen to grow their practice and make work.

Experience the captivating world of NOISE, where vibrating soundscapes and mesmerising sound reactive visuals converge. Prepare to embark on a transformative adventure that challenges your perception and deepens your understanding of this universal theme. In this immersive production, you have the power to choose your own pathway, following the dancers as they delve into their personal connection with noise. Drawing inspiration from their own lived experiences, the performers navigate the complexities of communication in a society entrenched in ableism and heteronormativity.

A bunch of local theatre makers, comedians, dancers, musicians, actors and clowns are going to try some new things – and you’re invited to experience it. Join us as we sample the delights of a smorgasbord of bold, fresh, new work in progress performances. It’s the first crucial part of a journey for the acts and a left-field night like no other for the audience. Our promise to you: This’ll be… Unpolished. Random. Uproarious. Vulnerable. Inspired. Awkward. New. Joyous.
